TBP All-Star TEAM Camp and Individual Camp

July 29th to August 2nd, 2009

Longwood University, Farmville, VA.

COST: $415

This will be our 23rd year at Longwood. Teams from Oakton, Marshall, Lake Braddock, Dominion and Broad Run attended last year.
Other school in Northern Virginia may attend this year. We are able to accept a limited number (10) of Individual players - grades 8 through 12 that are not affiliated with the teams in attendance. They will compete in all individual activities including stations, factories, 10n 1, 3on 3 as well as drill work. During games they will be assigned to a team or if we have enough will play together in the three scheduled games each day. This is a very intense camp with over 10 hours on the court each day. It is only for the serious player.

$415 smackers!!!! Teams are attending from Oakton, Marshall, and Lake Braddock. This has been going on for years-and nobody in FCPS has stopped it.

Why?

Employees break the rules and Dale, Curran and the School Board look the other way.

Students are held to ZERO TOLERANCE , but not FCPS employees

AS PER BILL CURRAN, HAZING TAKES PLACE AT LAKE BRADDOCK

Lake Braddock Suspends 16 Girls’ Soccer Players for Violating Alcohol Policy

By B.J. Koubaroulis
Special to The Washington Post
Thursday, March 26, 2009; E05

Lake Braddock has suspended 16 players from its varsity girls’ soccer team after a party that involved alcohol at one of the players’ homes earlier this month, according to multiple school sources.

According to Fairfax County Public Schools’ participation policy, students who violate the standards of conduct in relation to alcohol are issued a mandatory 30-day suspension. It is not clear how many of the 16 players face the 30-day suspension; sources said not all the players suspended consumed alcohol.

“It’s a situation that we’re faced with and we’ll just work our way through it one day at a time,” said Bruins Coach Adam Soos, who would not discuss specifics about the incident and would not name the players involved. “Some choices were made, some consequences were dealt, and we’re coping with it day by day.”

One source said that the party is an annual event at which freshman players are welcomed to the team, an area power that has won five state titles, including two of the past three Virginia AAA championships.

Fairfax County Director of Athletics Bill Curran said that the incident was investigated.

“The reports of hazing incidents are taken very seriously and they are investigated to the fullest extent,” Curran said.

When reached for comment, Lake Braddock Athletic Director Mark Martino said, “We’re dealing with it and we’re moving on.”

The incident occurred on the weekend of March 14, according to one source, who also said that many of the six remaining players who were not suspended were at a showcase tournament in Las Vegas during the time of the incident.

After defeating Langley, 3-0, in its season-opener on March 11, Lake Braddock has been outscored 14-0 in losses to Chantilly, Oakton and Robinson. Because the Bruins would have been unable to field a varsity team, Soos called up seven players from the junior varsity team.

The Bruins will return as many as five players next week and should have the remaining 11 back in time for their April 16 meeting with Annandale, Soos said.

“As quick as we are to punish kids for poor decisions that they make, we also need to provide them with opportunities to redeem themselves,” Soos said. “If they choose to do the work to redeem themselves, if they choose to do the work to earn back the trust, then I’m all for it.”

What the F__K is Bill Curran talking about? Was this a group hazing? If yes, then they all need to be expelled from school.

Curran, were there any boys at this hazing? Were they drinking? What schools do they attend?

Mr. Curran, you would not know how to investigate anything and you do not take serious any rules that are broken by students or coaches.

You are worthless.

Time to Cut the Insanity From the Schools’ Budget

Fairfax County, this is your wake-up call: The proposed school system budget for fiscal 2010 (54 percent of the county’s budget) is out. It would increase class sizes, fire teachers not absorbed by attrition and reduce bus service for magnet students.

Now we know where the School Board’s priorities are. Forget that we can’t provide transportation to the nation’s No. 1 high school. Never mind that next year’s projected average high school class size in the county is 31 and that the state Department of Education sets the maximum at 30.

Let’s cut where it hurts the most and leave the bloated school system administration alone to protect the superintendent’s fiefdom.

For starters, why do we need 470 people in the Division of Instructional Services writing lesson plans that teachers ignore? Why do teachers need planning periods if someone is writing their lesson plans? Many of these positions could be eliminated, and the staff members could return to the classroom.

We have 17 cluster superintendents who each earn a six-figure salary.

We have 30 to 34 people in the Department of Accountability studying scores on the state Standards of Learning tests. If we had more teachers, then maybe the SOL scores would take care of themselves.

Why do we have separate school and county libraries, human resources departments and audits? Officials say they are looking into it — so where’s the plan? We could combine them and introduce obvious efficiencies.

We could reduce the number of assistant principals: We have one for every 455 students, and Arlington County has one for every 567.

It is time we add fiscal sanity to the school budget. Contact your School Board members and ask where their priorities are — with the administration or the students and classrooms?

What is going on in FCPS? Child molestors?

The following is from a concerned parent:

Good Saints preserve us, Jack Dale has assembled a grotesque crew of assorted misfits to educate our youth. Dale employs enough sexual deviants, predators, dopers, child molestors, and reprobates to fill a prison wing, and yet this arrogant miscreant and his obsequious flunkies continue to sing their own praises. This oafish buffoon needs to ride off into the sunset and let the good citizens of Fairfax try to repair the unbridled destruction he has visited upon the county.

DALE AND THE SCHOOL BOARD RUN FCPS LIKE AIG

FCPS HAS NO MONEY FOR STUDENTS OR TEACHERS BUT THEY HAVE MONEY FOR:

It seems that the unconscionable raw greed that characterized the AIG executives and their behavior is on full display within the FCPS system. On April 2-4, two FCPS administrators are being sent, all expenses paid, to a luxurious beach front Hotel for a few days of sun and fun. Administrators will spend those days sailing and tanning, while Fairfax Taxpayers are busy working to pay their salaries.

OK

Fairfax County – this is your wake-up call…The proposed FY2010 school budget (54% of the entire county’s budget) is out and it: 1)      Increases class sizes 2)      Fires teachers and custodians not absorbed by attrition3)      Reduces bus service for magnet students

Now we know where the School Board’s priorities are. Forget that now we can’t even provide transportation to the nation’s #1 high school. Never mind that the

Fairfax County average high school class size is 31 and the STATE LAW sets the maximum at 30. Let’s cut where it hurts most -– and leave the bloated school administration alone to protect the Superintendent’s fiefdom.  If only we could find that Holy Grail….

For starters, why do we need 470 people in the Division of Instructional Services writing lesson plans that the teachers ignore? Why is a planning period for middle and high school teachers and half day every Monday for Elementary School teachers needed if someone is writing their lesson plans? Many of these positions could be eliminated or forced to return to the classroom.

We have 17 cluster superintendents who earn a six figure salary.

We have 30-34 people in the Department of Accountability studying SOL scores. If we had more teachers, then maybe the SOL scores would take care of themselves.

We have a spin department called Communications and Community Outreach – we would save $2 million a year if this department was eliminated.

Why do we have separate school and county libraries, HR departments, and audits? They claim they are looking into it – so where’s the plan? We could combine the two and introduce obvious efficiencies.

We could reduce the number of assistant principals – we have one assistant principal for every 455 students –

Arlington has one for every 567 students. [1]

Superintendent Dale makes $266,292 + $16,000 custodial contribution + $46,000 403(b) contribution + a car or approximately $360K + he gets 26 days vacation a year[2] . The President of the

United States makes $400,000 a year. Need I say more… wake up folks.

COACHES AND CURRAN FAIL TO REPORT HAZINGS

FCPS takes hazing quite seriously. Bull shit

They even reported ONE hazing incident to the VA DOE for the school year 2007-08. More Bull Shit

That is correct.

165,000 students, 199 schools, who knows how many sports teams, and ONE hazing incident.

So you see, it clearly does not exist in FCPS. Nope, not at all.

FCPS AND BILL CURRAN LOOK THE OTHER WAY WHEN IT COMES TO HAZING.

HAZING AT FCPS AND CURRAN LETS IT HAPPEN

If you think that hazing is a big joke, you got it all wrong. Students have been killed with this stupid practice. What’s next rape?

The baseball coach saw what happen and did nothing. Why? Is it all about winning?

He should be removed from his job ASAP. He is playing games with student lives.

FCPS PLAYS FAVORITES WITH STUDENTS

FYI,

FCPS DOES NOT PLAY FAIR

First - FCPS has unevenly enforced their policies for years. This isn’t an assumption or false info, it’s a damn fact born out by the numbers and everyone can pull it up. Everyone freaking knows it. An incident that would cause a warning in one school (McLean) is punished with expulsion in another (Mont Vernon) and ignored in a third (Westfield).

Second - “What happens off of school property..” Look, if someone is snorting or whatever off school property, it is a pretty good assumption they are doing it on school property as well. Back in my day, the “stoner set” used to light up behind the gym as well as get high off school property. That heroin ring was operating for years WHILE they were at Westfield. Read the damn posts about it and other incidents that have occurred there. Better yet, read the newspapers.

The point that most people  have made  is that FCPS doesn’t follow it’s own polices. We all know that if you’re a “golden child,” FCPS will let them get away with literal murder while throwing the book at another child for the same crime. If your mommy and daddy has the right political connections or if you are a starting quarterback, you could probably toke up in the principal’s office and just get a slap on the wrist. Anyone else gets the book thrown at them. Anyone who’s been through the grinder of the FCPS knows this. That’s not an assumption or false info, it’s a damn fact.

One other thing. We don’t expect the FCPS to raise our children, but we do expect you to educate them. We pay a hell of a lot in taxes for you to do so and based on the posts I’ve seen written by these kids, you’ve completely failed.

FCPS ARE GOING TO HELL.

MORE CRAP CONTINUES AT MADISON HS AND CURRAN DOES NOTHING

Madison HS continues to recruit players to play baseball from Marshall, South Lakes and Herdon. These players purportedly get into Madison by taking AP courses.

Four current freshman pupil placed and have made the team.

Four current sophomores pupil placed and have made the team.

In the meantime, students who want to take AP courses are shut out. In addition, Madison baseball players are getting cut due to players being recruited.

This system sucks and Curran knows about it and he does nothing.

PS HOW MUCH MONEY DO THE PLAYERS AT MADISON HAVE TO PAY FOR WINTER/SUMMER CLINICS IN ORDER TO STAY ON THE TEAM?

ARE THEY FORCED TO PLAY FOR THE MUSTANGS? YES.
