Parents you need to get your check book out if you want your son to make their HS baseball team. Most coaches have had meetings with their players and have told them what team they must play on this fall and where they will be going for their winter clinics.

Sounds like preselection to me.

Some coaches have a conflict of interest because they instruct players to go to their business for winter instruction. These coaches put 25 players on the JV and Varsity teams so they have 50 players who must attend their clinics. At $300 to $400 per player these coaches are raking in twenty to thirty thousand dollars.

So get ready to write the checks if you want your kid to make the team and with 25 players on some teams, they will get very little playing time.

Curran knows what is going on, but does nothing. Curran has allowered a pay for play system to grow in FCPS sports.

Since he does nothing he should go back to being a teacher.

Why has Curran failed to do his job? Is it because he is just a good old boy who is not able to do his job? I think so. Some coaches are running wild with no controls.
